A wash station for boots and tools is a great starting point, but how do you know it is working? The point is that aside from using new boots and tools on every fire scene, there is a more proactive and cost-effective way, of utilizing an IGL canine with FIRE K9.

Are you doing everything you can to prevent cross contamination? NFPA 921, recommends using an IGL canine to screen, personnel, equipment, and tools before they enter the fire/explosion scene.

While under oath, opposing counsel asks, “what steps did you take to prevent cross contamination?”

 

Your answer should be, we employed FIRE K9 to conduct a search of all individuals, equipment, and the tools before they enter the scene.
